JAMMU, Feb 27: To commemorate World NGO Day, Samvedna Society chairman, Keshav Chopra here today visited the Shelter Home for Urban Homeless at Boria Basti and interacted with the inmates.
He listened to their stories and understood the challenges they face in their daily lives.
To provide immediate support and comfort, Chopra distributed clothes and refreshment to the inmates.
He emphasized that society’s progress is measured by how it cares its most vulnerable members.
Chopra highlighted the vital role that non-governmental organizations and social workers play in bridging the gap between government schemes and the people who need them most.
He remarked that World NGO Day is a reminder of the collective duty to serve humanity with empathy and dedication.
Veena Bakshi, Incharge, Rajni Devi, Aditya Dutta, Meenakashi, Vijay Kumar, Anju Chopra, Manoj Tandon, Sourav Gupta, Vikas Kumar and many others were also present on the occasion.
