JAMMU, Feb 28: Dr Nusrat Jabeen has been appointed as the new Head of the Department of Anatomy, Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu.
She hails from the Rajouri and began her academic journey with schooling in her native district. She pursued her MBBS from Government Medical College, Jammu, and subsequently completed her MS in Anatomy from the prestigious All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi.
Further enriching her academic exposure, she briefly worked in the Department of Anatomy at St George’s, University of London, gaining valuable international experience. On returning to India, she served as a faculty member at ASCOMS, Jammu, before joining GMC Jammu as a Lecturer in 2009.
Over the years, Dr Jabeen has steadily risen through the academic ranks owing to her dedication and commitment to medical education. She has been serving as a Professor in the Department of Anatomy since 2019. With numerous research publications and book chapters to her credit, she has made significant contributions to anatomical sciences and undergraduate as well as postgraduate medical teaching.
