RAJOURI, Feb 28: MLA Rajouri, Iftkhar Ahmed, today laid the foundation stone of Rs 4 crore power receiving station at Government Medical College Rajouri and inaugurated ten newly established registration counter centres at its associated hospital, aimed at streamlining patient services and strengthening healthcare delivery in the district.
During his visit, the MLA was accompanied by Principal GMC Rajouri, Dr AS Bhatia; Medical Superintendent, Dr Shamim Ahmed; Deputy Medical Superintendent, Dr Javid Iqbal; Superintending Engineer PDD; Executive Engineer PDD; and officials from PWD, Mechanical, and Hospital Divisions.
The MLA conducted a comprehensive inspection of the JR and SR Hostels, Dialysis Unit, Emergency Ward, and various other departments of the hospital. Emphasizing timely completion and improved patient care, he directed the concerned authorities to ensure that the SR and JR Hostels are completed within one month. He instructed that 30 additional beds be added to the Emergency Ward to cater to the increasing patient inflow.
To enhance specialized healthcare services, the MLA directed that the Paediatrics Department be strengthened to function with enhanced capacity and that the Orthopaedics wards be shifted to the newly constructed building for better patient management. He also ordered the relocation of the Dialysis Unit to the ground floor to ensure greater convenience and accessibility for patients.
Interacting with patients in the Emergency and Dialysis wards, the MLA assured them of his continued commitment to upgrading healthcare infrastructure and facilities in Rajouri. He reiterated that providing quality and accessible healthcare remains a top priority and that all necessary measures will be taken to further strengthen medical services in the district.
