UDHAMPUR, Feb 28: One person died while two others sustained injuries when a truck they were travelling in skidded off the road and rolled down in a gorge near Dudar Nallah area of Udhampur district.
Police said the ill-fated vehicle (JK02DN-63320) was on its way towards Manwal from Srinagar when it met with an accident near Dudar Nallah, resulting in injuries to three persons.
They were identified as Shiv Kumar (20) son of Parveen Kumar of Thalora, Manwal, Raman Kumar (25) son of Shiv Ram of Kathar, Manwal, and Ajay Keshav (24) son of Madan Lal of Thalora, Manwal.
According to police, soon after the accident, the injured were shifted to District Hospital, where one of them, Shiv Kumar succumbed to his injuries.
While a case under the relevant sections of the law has been registered at concern police station, police have initiated further investigation into the matter.
