Protest against Ropeway Project

REASI, Mar 1: Katra Yuva Ekta’ today kick-started the ‘blood signature campaign’ at Baba Shridhar Chowk at Katra, Mata Vaishno Devi against Tarakote Ropeway Project. The campaign will run for 3 days inviting people from all walks of life to sign along with blood soaked thumb impression against Tarakote Ropeway Project by the Shrine Board.
A large number of boys/ youth and senior citizens along with women participated in the campaign, marking their protest against the Ropeway Project.
During last two years, Katra has seen massive protests against the said project in which people from several districts of Jammu Division had raised their voice time to time.
As political leaders and LG himself had said on various occasions that whatever people will say that will happen regarding the Ropeway Project. But, after two years of hue and cry, Katra Yuva Ekta launched this blood signature campaign to strengthen their demand of abolishing the project.
On its first day, more than 1500 people signed the petition and put their blood soaked thumb impressions that say ‘No Ropeway’.
