Glowing tributes paid to Sher-e-Duggar

JAMMU, Mar 1: On the occasion of the 82nd death anniversary of the Sher-e-Duggar, Lala Hansraj Mahajan, a grand and dignified tribute ceremony was organized by the Akhil Bharatiya Mahajan Biradari Sangh (ABMBS) at the auditorium of Government Polytechnic College, Vikram Chowk, Jammu. Representatives from 63 Mahajan Biradaris and organizations participated in this historic gathering, demonstrating their unity and deep reverence.
The public tribute ceremony commenced with the sacred chanting of the Gayatri Mantra three times, followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp to invoke divine blessings. During the programme, the heads of all participating Mahajan Biradaris offered floral tributes to Lala Ji’s portrait and paid their heartfelt respects. The dignitaries and esteemed members present in the auditorium were formally welcomed through a welcome address delivered by Harinder Gupta.
The founder Chairman of Akhil Bharatiya Mahajan Biradari Sangh, Mahesh Gupta, highlighted the tireless social service, visionary leadership, and historic contributions of Lala Hansraj Mahajan . He urged the Sangh to draw inspiration from his ideals and elaborated upon the significant and historic aspects associated with the conduct of this event.
It is particularly noteworthy that the Mahajan community, with unanimous consent and widespread support, conferred upon their revered Lala Hansraj Mahajan the prestigious title of “Mahajan Mukutmani.” The proposal for this honor was mooted by Chairman Mahesh Gupta on behalf of the Akhil Bharatiya Mahajan Biradari Sangh and was approved by the heads and office bearers of 63 Mahajan biradaris and organizations representing nearly five lakh people. This historic moment was exceptional, as perhaps for the first time, various sub-groups of a community assembled on a single platform to bestow such a distinguished title upon their great personality.
The vote of thanks was presented by Bharat Bhushan Langar. The proceedings were conducted in a unique, disciplined, and impressive manner by Vice Chairman, Dinesh Gupta, which greatly captivated the audience.
On this occasion, 14 Biradaris were honored for their excellent management of monthly meetings and social gatherings. Additionally, five dedicated associates who have been rendering continuous outstanding service to the Akhil Bharatiya Mahajan Biradari Sangh were conferred with the title of “Mahajan-Soumitra.”
