POONCH, Mar 3: In a continued drive against illegal mining activities, District Police Poonch achieved a success by seizing three Tractor-trolleys involved in unauthorized extraction and transportation of mining material.
Reports said that acting on specific inputs, police party during a naka intercepted three Tractor-trolleys loaded with illegally mined material. The drivers failed to produce valid documents or permission from the competent authority for extraction and transportation of the said material.
Accordingly, the vehicles were seized on the spot under relevant provisions of law. The Mining Department was formally informed for further necessary legal action under the applicable mining laws and regulations.
A senior official requested the general public to cooperate with the Police and Mining authorities by sharing any information regarding illegal mining activities in their respective areas.
