JAMMU, Mar 3: Dr Sudhaa Sharma, former Professor Gynae & Obst. GMC Jammu was installed as President (2026-27) Indian Menopause Society (IMS) at the inaugural ceremony of National Conference IMSCON at Bhopal.
Dr Sudhaa, In her Presidential address, expressed that Menopause Health shall be promoted even to the women at village level through IMS March to rural India, Similarily Menopause Medical Education will be enhanced by establishment of College of IMS ( CIMS) where in award of IMS Honorary Professorship, certificate courses in different subjects of menopause, creation of IMS cells at various Medical colleges would be done.
Dr Sudhaa has also planned to do Research Methodology Workshops so that more Indian data is generated for providing better medical health care to Indian Menopause women as we differ from western women in ethnicity
Few other activities planned would be weekly Online Presidential webinars, Sunday Fitness programs, Prescription writing Master Classes, National Quizs, Osteoporosis modules, publication of magazines like Poise and Newsletters ,conducting various physical CME across country, hands on operative workshops in the field of urogynaecology, celebration of special days across country (World Menopause & Osteoporosis Day), four zonal conferences Public Awareness progrmmes & Camps through Club 35 plus,
Dr Sudhaa expressed that Mission of IMS for menopause Health is ‘Fit At 40, Strong At 60 And Independent At 80.’
