JAMMU, Mar 3: Nalwa XI and Shaheed Jasjit Tral XI registered emphatic victories in the ongoing 2nd Sikh Cricket Premier League (SCPL) at the University of Jammu grounds.
In the first match, Nalwa XI defeated Lt. Sheetal Singh Cricket Club by a massive 101 runs. Batting first, Nalwa XI posted 201/7 and then bowled out Sheetal Club for 100 runs in 16.4 overs. Sahil Singh was declared Player of the Match for his all-round performance, scoring 57 runs off 27 balls and taking three wickets for 10 runs in two overs. He also earned the Best Batter award, while Rahil Singh was named Best Bowler for his three-wicket haul. The match was attended by special guests S P Rural, Brijesh Sharma, S P North, and Vijay Shekhar, who motivated the players.
In the second match, Shaheed Jasjit Tral XI defeated Damesh Cricket Club, Poonch by 86 runs. Batting first, Shaheed Jasjit XI scored 203/9, restricting the opposition to 117/9 in reply. Gurdeep Singh was adjudged Player of the Match for his four-wicket haul and valuable 14 runs, while Takshdeep Singh earned Best Batter for his explosive 67 off 30 balls (4×4, 6×6) and Gurdeep Singh received Best Bowler honours. The match was graced by dignitaries including DIG Shiv Kumar, Mukund and RTO Jammu Jasmeet Singh.
Other prominent figures encouraging the teams included Legislator Yudhvir Sethi, IPL cricketer Yudhvir Singh Charak, Rohit Sharma, Avtar Singh Khalsa, Balvinder Singh, and senior members of the JK Sikh Coordination Committee.
