UNITED NATIONS, Mar 3: The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Turk, called for an immediate and impartial investigation into the deadly attack on a girls’ school in the Iranian city of Minab, his spokesperson Ravina Shamdasani said on Tuesday.
“In Iran, the Iran Red Crescent Society puts the death toll at 787. In the single deadliest and devastating incident, dozens of girls were reportedly killed and injured when their primary school in Minab in the south of the country was struck during the school day. The High Commissioner calls for a prompt, impartial and thorough investigation into the circumstances of the attack,” Shamdasani said at a briefing in Geneva. (UNI)
