UDHAMPUR, Mar 5: Cyber Police Station Udhampur has successfully recovered and refunded more than Rs 5.27 lakh to 19 cyber fraud victims during the last month.
Major refunds include Rs 2,21,045/- to Mohd Rayaz Wani, resident of Ponara Basantgarh; Rs 92,754/- to Jyoti Prabha, resident of Incha Ramnagar; Rs 50,000/- to Himanshi Sharma, resident of Dhanori Udhampur and Rs 39,000/- to Hans Raj of Channi Morh Udhampur, besides other amounts refunded to victims across Udhampur district.
This recovery was made possible through prompt action sustained technical follow-up and close coordination with concerned financial institutions by Cyber Police Station Udhampur.
Udhampur Police has once again appealed to the general public to remain vigilant against cyber frauds and report any such incidents immediately at helpline 1930 or through the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal (www.cybercrime.gov.in) for timely intervention.
