JAMMU, Mar 6: In J&K for February 2026, retail sector registered a growth of 40.52 % YoY.
The 2-Wheeler category witnessed a growth of 53.48% at 7,792 units in February 2026, as compared to 5,077 units in February 2025.
The 3 Wheeler category witnessed a growth of 27.79% at 1,292 units in February 2026, as compared to 1,011units in February 2025.
The Commercial Wheeler category witnessed a growth of 38.04% at 1,212 units in February 2026, as compared to 878 units in February 2025.
The Construction Equipment category remained 0% at 42 units in February 2026, as compared to 42 units in February 2025.
The Passenger Vehicle category witnessed a Growth of 33.32% at 5,834 units in February 2026, as compared to 4,376 units in February 2025.
The Tractor Vehicle category witnessed a downfall of -9.43% at 317 units in February 2026, as compared to 350 units in February 2025.
In a statement issued, Sanjay Aggarwal, Chairperson, Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA) said that reflecting on February 2026 Auto Retail performance in J&K, “February 2026 showed a spectacular growth of 40.52 % YoY.
He said, “The strong performance was largely driven by robust demand in the two-wheeler and passenger vehicle segments, which continue to remain the key contributors to overall retail growth in the region.”
“The commercial vehicle segment’s positive momentum indicates improving business activity and transportation demand across Jammu & Kashmir, particularly with ongoing infrastructure development and logistics movement,” he said.
Aggarwal said that Looking ahead to March’26, dealer sentiment remains largely positive.
“Demand is expected to be supported by the confluence of multiple festivals such as Navratri, Ramzan and Eid, along with the financial year-end buying cycle, which traditionally accelerates vehicle purchases across segments,” he added.
