During the meeting, the delegation placed several suggestions and issues before the Controller regarding the functioning of the department and the challenges faced by traders in complying with Legal Metrology regulations. The traders emphasized the need for stronger coordination between the department and the trader fraternity to ensure smooth implementation of the law.
One of the issues raised by the traders was the need for regular verification and awareness camps so that traders can conveniently get their weighing and measuring instruments verified and stay informed about compliance requirements under the Legal Metrology Act and related rules.
