UDHAMPUR, Mar 6: Udhampur Police has attached a vehicle worth Rs 45 lakhs belonging to a habitual bovine smuggler, Mohd Ashraf, son of Tallib Hussain of Talwara, District Reasi.
The property includes one Thermo-Freeze Canter bearing Registration number UP26T-2340 owned by the accused, which has been attached under Section 107 BNSS in compliance with the orders passed by the Court of Addl Special Mobile Magistrate Udhampur.
The said vehicle was found involved in FIR No. 174/2025 U/S 223 BNS & 11 PCA Act registered at Police Station Rehambal.
During the course of investigation, a detailed inquiry was conducted by the Investigating Officer from multiple aspects, including criminal antecedents and financial investigation. The inquiry revealed that the offending vehicle had been used in unlawful activities related to bovine smuggling.
Accordingly, the said vehicle has been lawfully seized and provisionally attached under the relevant provisions of law in the presence of EMIC Tikri. This is the 3rd property attached by Udhampur Police in such cases this year, with the total worth reaching Rs 95 lakhs.
