A temple priest in Kanpur was assaulted by a mob after a photo, allegedly showing him eating non-vegetarian food, went viral on social media. Around 50-60 people attacked the priest at Bhuteshwar Temple, with some even slapping intervening women. Police rescued the priest and are identifying the accused.
