Drainage system collapse in Green Enclave Society of Sidhra

JAMMU, March 11: Residents of the Green Enclave Society, Lane number 1, at Asrarabad in Sidhra here today claimed complete collapse of the drainage system in their locality.
During a meeting, the residents said that the collapsed drainage at several points has resulted in continuous overflow of sewage water creating foul smell, mosquito breeding and unhygienic living conditions posing serious health risks particularly to the children, elderly citizens and women.
“We have already submitted 17 written representations and reminders in this regard to the concerned authorities, including JMC and district administration but no permanent reconstruction work has been initiated so far,” they maintained demanding removal of hazardous sludge from the residential area, reconstruction of the collapsed drainage system, permanent engineering solution to prevent sewage overflow and a clear timeline for execution of the work.
The meeting was attended by Nittu Kumar, Imran Khan, Amin Sultanpuri, Dr. Umair, Basharat Hussain, Haji Ali, Abdul Ghani, Zahoor, Sakib Ali, Mohd Yaqoob, Shehzad Hussain, Latief Hussain, Mohd Jaral, Sameer Qureshi, Tanveer Hussain, Abdul Qayoom, Babu Rahi and Ijaz Hussain.
