JAMMU, Mar 13 : Continuing his commitment towards strengthening basic infrastructure in the constituency, MLA Bahu Ch Vikram Randhawa today inaugurated Lane and Drain work in Ward No. 48, Gorkha Nagar.
The work will be completed at a cost of Rs 29 lakh and dedicated the same to the public for their convenience.
On the occasion, the MLA also started another Lane and Drain development work in Ward No. 48, Gorkha Nagar, which will be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 13.25 lakh, aimed at further improving road connectivity and drainage facilities in the area.
While addressing the gathering, MLA Randhawa emphasized that development of lanes and proper drainage systems is essential for maintaining cleanliness, better infrastructure and improving the quality of life of residents.
“All the remaining development works of Gorkha Nagar will also be taken up and completed at the earliest possible time, with the vision to make Gorkha Nagar a well-developed and model locality,” he added.
The local residents appreciated the efforts of the MLA and expressed their gratitude for fulfilling their long-pending demand for better infrastructure in the area.
Both development works are being executed under the Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC).
Among others who were present during the events included mandal president Surjeet Singh, his team members including Sunny Sangotra, Ajay Sharma, Karuna Chhetri, Sajan Gupta, Nitesh Thapa, Surinder Patyal, Sumit Kumar and Mukhtiyar Singh.
