KATHUA, Mar 16: JKPCC Kissan Department, chairman Bharat Priye, accompanied by District Congress Committee (DCC), president Kathua, Pankaj Dogra, addressed a press conference here, today to rally public opinion, particularly among the farming community, for the upcoming grand Kissan Sammelan scheduled on March 29 at Nagri, Kathua.
The event, being organized under the leadership of JKPCC chief, Tariq Hamid Karra and All India Kissan Congress Chairman, Sukhpal Singh Khaira aims to bring together farmers from across Jammu and Kashmir to discuss pressing agricultural issues and deliberate on measures for the welfare of the farming community.
During the press conference, Bharat Priye emphasized the critical role of farmers in strengthening the economy and highlighted the need for unity and active participation in the Sammelan. He urged farmers to use this platform to voice their concerns regarding agricultural policies, irrigation facilities, crop pricing, and subsidies. Priye stressed that the Kissan Sammelan would serve as a forum to formulate actionable solutions for the challenges faced by the farming community in the Union Territory.
