BASOHLI, Mar 16: Village Hutt in Basohli today achieved a proud milestone as Lt. Aryan Sharma has become the first commissioned officer from the village in the Indian Army.
Lt. Aryan is the son of Advocate Adarsh Sharma and Judge Rajni Sharma.
He completed his schooling from JK Public School Kunjwani and later graduated from Government MAM College Jammu.
He also earned the ‘C’ Certificate from the National Cadet Corps and subsequently completed his LLB from the University of Jammu.
Demonstrating remarkable determination and perseverance, Aryan cleared the Combined Defence Services Examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission consecutively six times.
He secured recommendation in the Services Selection Board interview in his fifth attempt and achieved an impressive All India Rank 36 in CDS 2024.
Following his recommendation, he underwent rigorous training at the Officers Training Academy Chennai and was later commissioned into The Garhwal Rifles, one of the renowned infantry regiments of the Indian Army.
His achievement has brought immense pride to his family, village Hutt and the entire Basohli region.
His inspiring journey stands as a motivation for aspiring youth, proving that dedication, discipline and perseverance can turn dreams into reality.
