JAMMU, Mar 16: The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee has urged the LG administration to consider release of all those innocent youth detained after protests over the killing of Supreme leader of Iran Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
In a statement JKPCC president, Tariq Hameed Karra has urged the Lt Governor Manoj Sinha to intervene into matter and direct release of all those youth, who took part in protests in different parts of Valley over the assassination of supreme political and a religious leader, Ayatollah Khamenei by the US-Israel. They were detained by the police as a preventive measure.
He said it was a reflection of anger to mourn the killing of supreme leader and are not involved in any illegal activities and belong to main stream political and social activism.
In view of this background and the forthcoming holy festival of Eid, it is desired that all such people should be released forthwith, he appealed.
Karra also appealed to the society in Kashmir to maintain their calm over the issue and let the Government consider the matter on priority.
