Gaurav slams Kabul hospital attack, blames Pak for terror ecosystem

JAMMU, Mar 17: BJP spokesperson and convenor, International Affairs, Gaurav Gupta today issued a strong statement following the deadly terror air strike on a hospital in Kabul, calling it a barbaric act targeting innocent civilians and a grave threat to regional peace.
Gupta said the attack, which reportedly killed and injured women and children, highlights the brutality and impunity with which terror networks continue to operate. He described it as a calculated attempt to spread fear, destabilise the region, and derail ongoing peace efforts in Afghanistan.
In a sharp escalation of rhetoric, Gupta accused Pakistan of being the “epicentre of terrorism,” alleging that such incidents are a direct outcome of long-standing support systems that nurture and export terror. He termed the Kabul strike part of a larger, well-entrenched terror machinery sustained by state backing.
“This is not an isolated incident but a reflection of a dangerous pattern where innocent lives are deliberately targeted,” Gupta said, adding that the international community can no longer ignore the sources enabling such violence.
Highlighting India’s consistent stand against terrorism, he said the country has repeatedly presented evidence against Pakistan at global forums. Gupta cited major attacks including the 2008 Mumbai attacks, the 2001 Indian Parliament attack, and the 2016 Pathankot airbase attack to underline what he called a continuing pattern of cross-border terrorism.
He also referred to incidents in Jammu and Kashmir, including the 2019 Pulwama attack, and other recent encounters, stating that the region has long borne the brunt of such activities.
Calling for urgent global intervention, Gupta urged the international community to take firm action against countries providing safe havens to terror groups. He reiterated India’s zero-tolerance policy on terrorism and stressed the need for coordinated global efforts.
Expressing solidarity with the people of Afghanistan, Gupta extended condolences to the victims’ families and called for accountability, stating that only collective and decisive action can prevent such attacks in the future.
