BHADERWAH, Mar 17: In a tragic road accident, one person was killed while the other was left critically injured when the car they were onboard plunged into a rivulet at Bhalla area here this evening.
Immediately after the accident, locals along with cops started a rescue operation and retrieved one of the travellers in the car and shifted him to the hospital.
He was identified as Sandeep Kumar, a teacher from Seri village of Bhaderwah while the other person onboard the car remained missing after he was washed away by the gushing water of the rivulet and rescue teams continued a search for him.
After hectic search his body was traced and shifted to the hospital for post-mortem and other legal formalities.
The deceased was identified as Ramesh Kumar, resident of Seri village in Bhaderwah.
Registration number of the vehicle could not be known till last reports as it had landed on a rock surrounded by the water from the rivulet and it had grown extreme dark also.
Police has taken cognisance of the incident and started investigation to ascertain the reasons behind the accident.
