LEH, March 18 : The Chief Secretary of the Union Territory of Ladakh, Ashish Kundra, chaired a meeting to review the status of recruitments, promotions, and referral of vacancies to recruiting agencies, including the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).
The meeting focused on expediting promotions through Departmental Promotion Committees (DPCs) to address stagnation and create vacancies, ensuring timely referral of direct recruitment vacancies to UPSC, and reviewing ongoing recruitment processes along with future hiring plans. A consolidated status of recruitments, promotions, and vacancies across departments was also examined.
During the meeting, Administrative Secretaries presented detailed updates on the current recruitment scenario, including ongoing processes, vacancies in the pipeline at various stages such as referral and advertisement, and projections for the next cycle of direct recruitment.
The status of both gazetted and non-gazetted promotional vacancies was thoroughly reviewed, along with an assessment of departmental staffing gaps.
The Chief Secretary also reviewed preparations for upcoming examinations to be conducted by the Ladakh Subordinate Services Selection Board and the Ladakh Subordinate Services Recruitment Board.
Officials informed that examinations for various posts are scheduled to commence from March 28 and continue till May.
To ensure transparency and fairness, the Chief Secretary directed Deputy Commissioners of both districts to interchange invigilators during examinations.
Emphasizing efficiency in recruitment processes, the Chief Secretary reviewed long-pending posts across departments and highlighted the importance of organizing Rozgar Melas in both districts to enhance employment outreach.
He also underscored the need to adhere to established recruitment norms, including those aligned with UGC principles, as applicable to Ladakh’s recruitment boards.
The meeting was attended by Commissioner Secretary Lalinthakhuma Franklin; Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests Rajesh S Kumar; Secretary, School Education Bhanu Prabha; Secretary, Tourism Sanjeet Rodrigues; Secretary, GAD Rudra P T Goud; Secretary, IT Shashanka Ala; Secretary, Election/CEO Rahul Sharma; Deputy Commissioner Leh Romil Singh Donk; Secretary, Youth Services & Sports Moses Kunzang, along with other senior officers and officials from various departments.
