JAMMU, Mar 19: To facilitate devotees during Navratra, Jammu and Kashmir Bank today set up a special cash and note exchange counter at its business unit at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Bhawan.
A statement said the facility aims to provide fresh currency notes and exchange services to pilgrims visiting the shrine.
The counter was inaugurated by CEO of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, Sachin Kumar Vaishya, along with the Bank’s General Manager and Divisional Head (Jammu) Ashok Gupta, in the presence of SDM Bhawan Anshumali Sharma, ADC Sher Singh, Tehsildar Mukesh Thappa, senior officials of the Shrine Board, Head Pandit Gopal Sharma, Branch Head Gourav Modi, officers of the Bank, and a large number of devotees from across the country.
Speaking on the occasion, CEO Sachin Kumar Vaishya appreciated the Bank’s continued efforts to support pilgrims and its role in providing banking services along the entire pilgrimage route.
He said such initiatives enhance convenience for the lakhs of devotees visiting the shrine.
Earlier, Ashok Gupta thanked the Shrine Board for its continued support and said the Bank remains committed to delivering efficient services to the Board, pilgrims and the general public.
He added that the branch at Bhawan has been serving devotees since the formation of the Shrine Board and also assists in managing offerings received at the shrine.
The Bank has established three branches and installed nine ATMs from Katra to Bhawan to ensure seamless banking access.
Additional arrangements, including fresh cash availability and note exchange services, have been made for Navratra.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by the Branch Head.
