Navreh celebrated with fervour, gaiety by KPs across Jammu

JAMMU, Mar 19: Navreh the beginning of new year as per the Saptrishi Calendar was celebrated by Kashmiri Pandits with traditional religious fervor and gaiety here, today.
A huge congregation of devotees attended the annual function held at the Bhagawaan Gopinathji Ashram, Udaiwala, Bohri, here to mark the celebrations”. The function started at 2 p.m. sharp with the Guru Vandana. As usual, Guru-Geeta recitation competition was held on the occasion in which 20 competitors participated. This competition is held with a view to promoting Bhagawaan consciousness in the youth.

Vijay Wali, Kamlesh Tufchi and Maharaj Krishen Santoshi acted as the judges on the occasion. The participants who bagged 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize in the Sub-junior group included Atharva Bhat, Aradhya and Disha Sharma respectively. In Junior Group, Sakshi Sharma, Shayna Sharma and Tanishka Sumbly got first three positions respectively. In Senior Group Manasvi Bhat, Aishani Ashani Saraf got 1st & 2nd prize respectively. Certificates and trophies were given to the position holders. All other participants were given certificates.
The function was presided over by Bal Krishen ‘Sanyasi’. The vote of thanks was presented by the president of the Trust on this occasion.
The Zeashta Devi Prabandhak Committee (ZDPC) celebrated Navreh Milan, at Zeethyar Nardani, near here, with great religious fervour and enthusiasm.
The programme commenced with the regular Thursday Pooja, followed by Naresh Pooja.. On the occasion, president, ZDPC, Ravinder Kumar Jogi , general secretary, Ramesh Khuda addressed the gathering and emphasizing the need to preserve the cultural and religious heritage of the community. Piaray Lal Pandita, publicity secretary enlightened about the significance of Navreh festival. The prasad was distributed among the devotees who exchanged greetings and later joined a community lunch.
On this occasion, the annual calendar of Zeashta Devi was also released.
The Trikuta Kashmiri Pandit Trust, Trikuta Nagar, celebrated the auspicious festival of Navreh and Zang-Trey , with great devotion and enthusiasm. The programme was graced by the presence of Dr Arvind Karwani, Commissioner, Relief and Rehabilitation (Migrants), as the chief guest.
Welcoming the gathering, the Trust extended warm greetings to the community and highlighted the spiritual and cultural significance of Navreh, which symbolizes hope, renewal, and the continuity of the rich heritage of KPs. The importance of the traditional Navreh Thaal, representing prosperity, knowledge, and positivity, was also emphasized.
The Trust also highlighted its social, educational, and humanitarian initiatives.
On the occasion the chief guest Dr. Arvind Karwani expressed the importance of Navreh for Kashmiri Pandits. Prof P.N.Trisal and Acharya, Sharan Dhar also enlightened the audience on the relevance of Navreh.
A musical programme was also organized on the occasion with rendition of Kashmiri devotional songs.
Another function was organised by Mata BhaderkaliAsthapan Thalwal where Navreh was celebrated with enthusiasm and great devotion. The celebrations started with Pushparchana followed by collective oath ceremony reaffirming the resolve for peaceful return to the Kashmir Valley and expressing the aspirations to celebrate next Navreh in Valley.
A spiritually uplifting Bhajan Kirtan was also a major highlight of the day. On the occasion Tyag Diwas was also observed in honour of Pandit Shriya Bhat, remembering invaluable contributions and legacy. The president of the Trust while addressing appealed the community to participate in upcoming programmes during Navratras.
On the auspicious occasion of Navreh a grand programme was organised by All State Kashmiri Pandit Conference (ASKPC) at Durga Nagar. The prgamme was presided over by the president ASKPC, R K Wangnoo who highlighted the significance of the day.
Vice president, Sanjay Bakshi prayed for the honorable and dignified return of displaced community to Valley in accordance to their geo-political aspirations. He also highlighted the role of ASKPC as the oldest organisation. On the occasion Veena Gurtu and Ashok Kaul president Sharika Peeth were honoured.
