TEHRAN, Mar 21: Iran is not seeking a ceasefire but a “complete, comprehensive and lasting end” to the conflict with the United States and Israel, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said.
“Iran is seeking not a ceasefire, but a complete, comprehensive and lasting end to the war,” in an Araghchi said during interview with Kyodo News.
The remarks come after the United States and Israel launched a preemtpive strikes on Iran on Feb 28 . Iran retaliated with strikes on Israeli territory and US military facilities across the region.
The conflict has severely disrupted shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, a vital artery for global oil and liquefied natural gas supplies from Persian Gulf producers, effectively halting transit and driving fuel prices higher worldwide. (UNI)
