JAMMU, Mar 22: India remains fully prepared to counter any form of aggression, with a robust and modern security apparatus in place to safeguard its sovereignty.
This was stated today by BJP spokesperson and convenor, International Affairs, Gaurav Gupta while reacting to remarks made by former Pakistani diplomat Abdul Basit.
Gupta stated that such statements from Pakistan reflect a continued pattern of provocative rhetoric and underscore the need for constant vigilance. He asserted that India’s armed forces maintain a high level of operational readiness and are capable of delivering a swift and decisive response to any provocation.
Highlighting the country’s defence preparedness, Gupta said India has developed advanced surveillance systems, rapid mobilization capabilities, and precision strike mechanisms aimed at neutralizing threats effectively. He added that every component of the national security framework-from intelligence gathering to ground-level execution-is aligned to ensure timely and firm action against hostile moves.
He further noted that India’s strategic capabilities serve as a strong deterrent, discouraging adversaries, including Pakistan, from engaging in any misadventure. Referring to past responses, Gupta said India has consistently demonstrated its resolve to protect national interests and respond firmly when challenged.
Gupta emphasized that while India remains committed to peace and regional stability, it will not hesitate to act decisively if its sovereignty is threatened. He said the country’s approach balances restraint with strength, ensuring that any aggression is met with an appropriate and effective response.
Reiterating India’s preparedness across all fronts, Gupta said the armed forces remain vigilant and fully equipped to handle evolving security challenges. He added that safeguarding the nation’s integrity remains paramount, and any attempt to undermine it, particularly through hostile intent or rhetoric from Pakistan, will be dealt with firmly and effectively.
