Mega rally on March 26 to mark Ambedkar Jayanti celebrations

JAMMU, Mar 23: A mega `Vishal Rally’ will be organized on March 26, 2026, at Bari Brahmana as part of the run-up to the birth anniversary of B R Ambedkar, scheduled to be celebrated on April 14.
Addressing a press conference, here today, Puran Chand, President of the Dr B R Ambedkar Educational Society (BRAES), said the rally is being held to pay tributes to Babasaheb and reaffirm commitment to his ideals of liberty, equality, and fraternity, which form the foundation of an inclusive and just society.
He informed that the rally aims to spread awareness about Ambedkar’s life, mission, and teachings, promote social harmony and brotherhood among all sections, and inspire youth to work towards justice, equality, and empowerment of marginalized communities. It will also focus on strengthening democratic values and constitutional rights, he added.
Puran Chand said that thousands of Ambedkarites, social activists, youth, and members of civil society from across the region are expected to participate in the rally. He termed the event a significant platform to unite people under the banner of social justice and equality.
Extending an open invitation, he urged all sections of society, including the media and intellectuals, to join the rally and contribute to making it a grand success.
He emphasized the need for collective efforts to carry forward the vision of Babasaheb and work towards building an equitable and progressive nation.
