District-Level Volleyball Championship begins at GDC Bhaderwah

BHADERWAH: The Volleyball Association of Jammu and Kashmir, in collaboration with the Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council, organized a District-Level Volleyball Championship at the Synthetic Volleyball Court of Government Degree College Bhaderwah on Tuesday.
The event witnessed the presence of several distinguished guests, including the Principal of Government Degree College Bhaderwah, SDPO Bhaderwah, Principal of Government Higher Secondary School Boys Bhaderwah, SHO Bhaderwah, and other prominent dignitaries. The championship is being held with the theme of promoting a drug-free society and fostering sportsmanship among the youth.
The inauguaral ceremony began with inspiring addresses by the dignitaries, followed by the presentation of mementos to the Chief Guest, Guest of Honour, and other attendees.
Around 10 teams from across the Doda district are participating in the tournament, showcasing strong enthusiasm and competitive spirit.
In the opening match, Volleyball Club Sartingal Bhaderwah defeated Government Degree College Bhaderwah (B) with a straight 2-0 victory, winning the sets 25-20 and 25-21.
The second match saw Sofi Club Dhadkai clinch a hard-fought win against Volleyball Club Bhella by 2-1. Sofi Club Dhadkai dominated the first set 25-16, while Bhella bounced back in the second set with a 25-18 win. However, Sofi Club Dhadkai secured victory in the final set with a score of 15-10.
In the third match, Tiger Sinoo Club emerged victorious against Star Volleyball Club Doda with a convincing 2-0 win, taking the sets 25-15 and 25-23.
All matches are being officiated by professional officials, ensuring fair play and high standards of competition. The Principal of Government Degree College Bhaderwah has been lauded for consistently extending full support by providing necessary infrastructure for such sporting events.
An observer from the Sports Council, Rohit Chauhan, is closely monitoring the programme, ensuring smooth conduct and adherence to standards.
The championship continues to inspire local youth, reinforcing the importance of sports in building discipline, unity, and a healthier society.
