UDHAMPUR, Mar 24: In separate cases, Udhampur Police arrested three drug peddlers and recovered heroin from their possession.
During patrolling duty near Manwal Chowk, a police party of Police Station Majalta intercepted one suspicious person moving from Manwal towards Battal. On questioning, he disclosed his identity as Mahandeep Singh son of Baldev Singh of Nadal (Kathar), Tehsil Dansal, District Jammu. During his personal search, 10.27 grams of heroin was recovered from his possession.
Another drug peddler was apprehended during routine patrolling at Circular Road near Devika, Udhampur. He disclosed his identity as Suresh Kumar, son of Jagdev Kumar of Devika, Udhampur. During his personal search, 1.54 grams of heroin was recovered from his possession.
The third drug peddler was apprehended during patrolling near Gole Mela (below NH-44 Bridge) Dhar Road, Udhampur. 5.71 grams of heroin was recovered from the accused, identified as Vikram Kumar, son of Kali Dass of Karowa, Udhampur.
FIRs have been registered in the all three cases and further investigation was underway.
