RAJOURI, Mar 26: Continuing its sustained drive against illegal mining, Rajouri Police conducted a major operation in Saranoo area and took strict action against those involved in the unlawful extraction of minerals from the river bed.
During the operation, police teams found several vehicles, including dumpers and an excavator (Poclain), actively engaged in illegal mining at the site. All the vehicles were seized on the spot.
The seized vehicles include dumper bearing registration No. JK11-G 5727 driven by Rajesh Kumar, son of Punjab Singh, resident of Rajouri; dumper bearing registration No. JK11E 8811, driven by Vipan Kumar, son of Ghani Sham, resident of Rajouri; and dumper bearing registration No. JK11E 7654 driven by Manish Sharma, resident of Rajouri.
In addition, one excavator (Model No. SK380XDLC-10, Serial No. YC 14506038), owned by Vinod Mehta, son of Sat Paul, resident of Dhangri, was also found involved in the illegal mining activity and was seized.
Rajouri Police have initiated necessary legal action against the accused under relevant provisions of law. The police reiterated its firm commitment to curb illegal mining and warned that strict action will continue against violators.
