AITA Championship Series (CS-7) concludes

*Kaura wins singles, doubles titles

JAMMU, Mar 26: The AITA Championship Series (CS-7), Boys Under-18, a prestigious national junior tennis event, concluded today at the Tennis Complex, MA Stadium. Organized by the Jammu & Kashmir Lawn Tennis Association (JKLTA) under the aegis of the J&K Sports Council, the tournament showcased some of India’s brightest young tennis talents.
In a highly anticipated Singles final, Mahijit Kaura of Punjab defeated Hardeep Singh Soodan of Jammu & Kashmir in a thrilling three-set match. After a challenging start, Kaura displayed remarkable resilience, clinching the title with a 7-5, 3-6, 6-1 scoreline. His dominant performance in the final set underscored his mental strength and ability to bounce back from setbacks.
Kaura also partnered with Hardeep Singh Soodan to claim the Doubles title, defeating Naman Tak of Jammu & Kashmir and Aarya Patkar of Maharashtra. After losing the first set 2-6, Kaura and Soodan staged a spectacular comeback to win 6-3, 6-2 in the subsequent sets, securing the doubles crown.
Officials of JKLTA lauded the championship for promoting grassroots tennis in Jammu & Kashmir. The successful event highlighted the region’s growing sporting infrastructure, nurtured emerging talent, and reinforced the importance of fostering sportsmanship among young athletes in national-level competitions.
