Grid Station, Rajbagh Flyover, another vital bridge approved
*60 posts each for B&J Hospitals, Courts get nod

JAMMU, Mar 26: The Cabinet today approved Grid Station, bridges, sewerage and drainage projects and creation of posts in Bone and Joint Hospitals and Courts besides the Appropriation bills scheduled to be tabled in the Legislative Assembly tomorrow.
The Cabinet met at official residence of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah this evening for about an hour.

“Chief Minister chaired a Cabinet meeting this evening in Jammu, reviewing key development initiatives and governance priorities, with a focus on accelerating infrastructure projects, strengthening public service delivery, and ensuring inclusive growth across J&K,” a post by Office of Chief Minister J&K said on X.
However, the Government didn’t share any details on what transpired at the meeting.
Sources, however, told the Excelsior that the Cabinet is understood to have given nod to two vital sewerage and drainage projects in Jammu and Kashmir including the one at Kathua at the cost of Rs 44 crore and another at Pampore to the tune of Rs 24 crore.
Both these works will be executed by Housing and Urban Development Department.
Under the projects, water from the washrooms of the houses will be connected to the STPs. The sewerage and drainage project in Kathua town has also been extended up to Lakhanpur town, the gateway to Jammu and Kashmir. Entire Pampore town will also be covered by the project.
The Cabinet, whose decisions are subject to approval of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, is reported to have given nod to creation of around 60 posts in Bone and Joint Hospitals. The new posts will help generate more facilities for the patients.
Also nearly 60 posts have been cleared for the Courts.
The Cabinet has also given nod to construction of a Grid Station at Hajin, Bandipora.
The Cabinet is also reported to have approved construction of two vital bridges including Rajbagh Flyover connecting Sangarmal complex to Rajbagh Police Station at an estimated cost of Rs 144.36 crore and Gujhama bridge in Ganderbal district.
The Appropriation bills, which will be introduced by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah in the Legislative Assembly tomorrow, have also been approved by the Cabinet. The Appropriation bills for 2025-26 and 2026-27 amount to drawl of additional amount for current financial year and budget for next fiscal.
However, as per the sources, the approval to Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) which has to be signed by the Jal Shakti Ministry with the Government of India for Jal Jeevan Mission-Part II, is likely to be taken up in the next Cabinet meeting.
The J&K Government will seek Rs 1500 crore under the JJM-II from the Centre.
Sources said some bills which the Government is likely to bring during budget session of the Legislature resuming tomorrow also figured at the Cabinet meeting.
