JAMMU, Mar 26: An alleged drug peddler was arrested with 2 grams of heroin-like substance in Jourian area here today.
Officials said during routine checking at Chak Bhagwana, a suspicious scooty was intercepted.
On noticing the police, they said, the rider tried to escape from the spot, but was chased and apprehended by the alert cops. He was later identified as Rajat Singh of Chak Malal, Jourian.
On search, officials said, 2 grams of heroin-like substance, an electric weighing machine, one packed syringe and one used syringe were recovered from the possession of the biker.
He was accordingly arrested and booked in case FIR number 68/2026 registered under sections 8/21/22/29 of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station Akhnoor and further investigation taken up.
