Iran attacks US Navy ship in Port of Salalah in Oman, threaten forces in Dubai

TEHRAN, Mar 28 : The Iranian armed forces reportedly attacked a U.S. Navy support ship in the port of Salalah, Oman, over 1,000 kilometers (620 miles) from Iran’s coast, according to Ebrahim Zolfaghari, spokesman for the Khatam Al-Anbiya central headquarters of the Iranian military, on Saturday.

“Early this morning, on March 28, 2026, a support ship of the US military in the port of Salalah became the target of an attack by the armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran,” Zolfaghari was quoted by the Iranian state broadcaster IRIB.

He also stated that the number of US refueling aircraft destroyed in an earlier attack on Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia has risen to two.

Earlier, Zolfaghari had reported that Iranian forces had destroyed one tanker aircraft and damaged three others during the strike.

In a further escalation, Zolfaghari threatened US forces in the region, claiming that Iranian forces had struck two locations in Dubai where American troops were stationed.

“Trump and the commanders of the US military must have clearly understood that the region will turn into a graveyard for American soldiers,” the statement read.

He added that more than 400 US personnel were at one site and over 100 at another, and that both were targeted by precision missiles and drones launched by the aerospace and naval forces of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards.

The strikes by the United States and Israel which started on February 28 completed one month  and the are of war has widened since then . In response, Iran has carried out retaliatory strikes against both Israeli territory and U.S. military targets across the Middle East.

Separately, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian warned that Tehran would respond forcefully if its infrastructure or economic centers were targeted.

In a post on X, Pezeshkian said Iran did not carry out preemptive attacks but would retaliate strongly if attacked. He also cautioned regional countries against allowing Iran’s adversaries to use their territory to wage war, stating, “If you want development and security, don’t let our enemies run the war from your lands.”
