Absconder wanted in POCSO case held after 7 years

JAMMU, Mar 31: Police today claimed to have arrested one person, who had been evading his arrest in a POCSO case registered in 2019.
Sunil Bhardwaj of Juddi, Doda, presently residing at Bari Brahamana, was wanted in case FIR number 123/2019 registered under sections 376, 109, 363 IPC and sections 3/4 of the POCSO Act at Police Station Janipur, a police official said.
But he had been constantly evading his arrest since the registration of the case, he said, adding that acting on specific information, the accused was arrested today by a team of Police Station Janipur led by SHO concerned, Inspector Vikram Sharma.
Meanwhile, further proceedings are underway, he said.
