Opposition parties forming the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) bloc have decided to move a no-confidence motion against the Indian government to force PM Narendra Modi to speak about the Manipur strife that has brought the monsoon session to a standstill. Though the motion is expected to fail, opposition parties believe they can win the battle of perception by cornering the government on the Manipur issue during the debate. Modi had previously expressed confidence that the opposition would bring a no-confidence motion in 2023.
