A major tragedy was averted on Tuesday when a Japan Airlines flight carrying 367 passengers and 12 crew members caught fire after colliding with a Coast Guard plane on the Haneda airport runway in Tokyo. All 379 people on board were safely evacuated from the plane after the collision and the pilot of the Coast Guard plane also managed to escape. However, five other crew members aboard the Coast Guard aircraft were killed in the accident.
