Alexei Navalny, a prominent critic of Russian President Putin, died in jail according to the prison service of the Yamalo-Nenets region where he was serving his sentence. World leaders have condemned his death and held Putin “responsible” for it. Other European leaders also issued a statement on Navalny’s death, including US Vice President Kamala Harris, and UK PM Rishi Sunak.
