The Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, and Bharatiya Sakshya Act will come into effect from July 1, replacing the British-era Indian Penal Code, the Code of Criminal Procedure, and the Indian Evidence Act of 1872. The laws introduce definitions for terrorism, organized crime, and crimes against Women and Children.
