Six members of an independent fact-finding committee, led by former Chief Justice L Narasimha Reddy, were briefly arrested by the West Bengal police while they were on their way to the troubled Sandeshkhali area. Bhojerhat is about 52 km from Sandeshkhali, which has become the centre of a massive controversy over alleged atrocities on women and incidents of Trinamool Congress leaders grabbing residents’ land for fish farms.
