The Union Cabinet approves ‘PM-Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana’, a scheme to install rooftop solar and provide free electricity to one crore households. The scheme aims to promote solar energy, boost solar manufacturing, create employment, and reduce CO2 emissions by adding 30 GW of solar capacity in the residential sector.
