The Enforcement Directorate has discovered extensive manipulation of stocks in the Indian stock market through the use of ‘proceeds of crime’ derived from a betting syndicate operated by Dubai-based promoters of Mahadev Online Book. This illegal betting platform is currently under investigation, with former Chhattisgarh chief minister Bhupesh Baghel and numerous high-ranking state bureaucrats implicated in the probe.
