JAMMU: Police on Friday solved a hit & run case by arresting an accused.
As per details, on November 11, 2021, an information was received at Police Station Janipur from reliable sources that a vehicle driven in rash and negligent manner hit a bike near Paloura Chowk and injured two persons namely Aman Mehra, resident of Old Janipur and pillon-rider Joginder Bahadur. The injured were shifted to GMC Jammu for medical treatment, where Aman Mehra succumbed to injuries. On the information, a FIR No. 75/2021 under sections 279/337 of IPC was registered at Police Station Janipur and investigation started.
On this, special police teams of Police Station Janipur under supervision of SDPO West Rahul Nagar were constituted. The team led by SHO Police Station Janipur Insp Nayat Ali after hectic efforts and with help of CCTV footages of the area, arrested accused driver namely Faryad, son of Mohd Sharief, resident of Nagrota. On his disclosure, a Tata load carrier (JK02BU 0252) was also recovered and seized.
