Govt SPMR College organises webinar on capital market by SEBI

JAMMU: Manodarpan Psychology &Career Counselling Cell of Govt. SPMR College of Commerce Jammu, organised a webinar in collaboration with Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), Multi Commodity Exchange of India Ltd, National Depositing Ltd on the topic “An Introduction To Capital Market”.
The webinar began with welcome address of the Principal Prof. R S Jamwal. He welcome all the speakers of the webinar, Veena Kumari AGM SEBI NRO, Sanjay Gakhar, Vice President MCX, Vikas Kabra HDFCMF, Himani Manager NSDL, Sabzar Ahmed RP-SEB. He appreciated the Convenor Prof. Archana Kauland all the committee members of Manodarpan Psychology and career counselling cell for organising series of such webinars, which will go a long way to help the participants in understanding the recent trend in the market. Prof Reeta Meenia , Co- Convenor of the committee introduced the key note speakers and opened up the topic of the webinar.
The first speaker of the event VeenaKumari , AGM, SEBI NRO, presented valuable views on the topic ‘Capital Market’ in which the long term debt or equity backed securities are bought and sold. She also reflected the urgency and importance to hold webinar on the said topic in order to spread awareness to the different investors during the difficult time of pandemic.
The second speaker of the event was Sanjay Gupta, vice president MCX, shared the information regarding the commodity derivatives and ecosystem and the activity commodity future in India. The next speaker of the webinar was Vikas Kabra HDFCMF, highlighted on the pros and cons of investment .He talked in detail about the process and procedure of saving and spending. He also enlightened the students about different investment options and what a good investment should be. Himani Manager NSDL , the last speaker discussed in detail about the Demat account , it’s importance of developing this account by an investors before entering the stock market, She guided about the process of basic documentations and the services provided. Participants queries were also addressed by the speakers in an interesting way.
The proceedings of the event were smoothly coordinated by Prof Ashu Manhas while Prof Jagmeet Kour, Prof Shreya Sharma, Prof Rajni Bala put in their efforts for successfully organising the webinar with the wholesome participation of around 300 students. Lastly, Prof Sakshi Sharma presented the formal vote of thanks.
