RAJOURI, June 14: In a tragic road accident, a villager was killed in Nowshera area today.
Identified as Parshotam Kumar, son of Diwan Chand, a resident of Chak Jarala, the villager was struck by a truck bearing registration number JK02DE-8630 in Nowshera area.
SHO Nowshera, Sumit Magotra, arrived at the scene of accident and arranged for the injured individual to be transported to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Nowshera.
Despite the best efforts of a medical team led by BMO Nowshera, Dr Iqbal Malik, Kumar could not be saved. Following a postmortem, the body was handed over to Kumar’s family.
The Nowshera Police have registered an FIR (Number 77/2024) under sections 279 and 337 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The truck driver has been arrested, and the vehicle seized.
