Rashtriya Rifles Battalion organises ‘Day in COB’

NOWSHERA: Rashtriya Rifles Battalion under the aegis of HQ Counter Insurgency Force (R) organised “Day in COB” on Monday during which local school children spent a day at COB Kalal Grove. The aim of the activity was to familiarise the children with the troops and give them an insight about the functioning, traditions and the life in general in the Indian Army. At the same time, it was also an activity to erase inhibitions amongst the general public about the Armed Forces as well as motivate young children to join the defence forces ans serve the nation.
In present times, the Indian Army is considered one of the most prestigious and respected career options in the country. Youngsters having a thirst for adventure, excitement and challenges can fulfill their desires and expectations by espousing a career in the defence services. This profession provides you with a golden opportunity to serve your motherland alongwith unending options for personal and professional development. The children were acquainted with the adventure, sports and other routine activities which constitute a way of life in the Indian Army. The excitement and enthusiasm radiated by the children during the entire programme was distinctly visible. Many sports activities were organised to encourage the youth to direct their bubbling energies in a positive direction. An educational talk was also given to the children on how to join the defence forces.
Children, Sarpanch and the local population of Kalal expressed their gratitude towards the Indian Army for organising the special event.
