JAMMU/ LEH: Jammu and Kashmir’s COVID-19 tally climbed to 3,18,848 with 155 new cases on Monday, officials said.
For the first time in nearly three months, no fresh deaths were reported in the union territory. The death toll stands at 4,357, they said.
Of the latest cases, 113 were reported from the Kashmir division and 42 from the Jammu division, the officials said.
At 33, Srinagar district recorded the highest number of cases, followed by 14 in Kulgam, they said.
There are 2,709 active COVID-19 cases in Jammu and Kashmir. So far, 3,11,782 patients have recovered from the disease, they added.
The officials said there are 31 confirmed cases of mucormycosis or black fungus in the union territory. No fresh case was reported the previous day.
Besides this, 98.12 percent of population above the age of 45 years has been vaccinated across the Jammu and Kashmir.
According to the daily Media Bulletin, out of 10673690 test results available, 10354842 samples have been tested as negative till today.
155 new cases recorded
Till date 2570745 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 8989 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 2709 in isolation and 275937 in home surveillance. Besides, 2278753 persons have completed their surveillance period.
Meanwhile, Ladakh’s COVID-19 tally mounted to 20,195 with nine fresh cases, officials said.
No death due to COVID-19 was reported in the Union Territory in the past 24 hours, they said.
So far, 206 people, including 148 in Leh district and 58 in Kargil district, have succumbed to the viral disease, the officials.
A total of nine new cases of COVID-19 were recorded, including eight in Leh and one in Kargil.
While 10 patients were discharged in Leh on Sunday, four were discharged in Kargil, they said.
With this, the total number of Covid active cases in Ladakh has come down to 110 including 77 in Leh and 33 in Kargil district.
