143 fresh COVID cases in J&K, lowest single day spike in 114 days

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday recorded 143 fresh coronavirus cases that took its infection tally to 3,18,991 while one more fatality in the Jammu Division pushed the overall death toll to 4,358, officials said.
According to a Srinagar based news agency, today’s is the lowest single-day spike in the virus cases in the last 114 days.
As many as 92 fresh cases were reported from the Kashmir division of the union territory and 51 from the Jammu division, they said.
Srinagar district recorded the highest number of cases at 41, followed by 17 in Baramulla. Fifteen districts reported fresh cases in single digits and the remaining three districts did not report any new infections, the officials said.

Ladakh records nine new COVID cases

Leh: Ladakh recorded nine new cases of COVID-19, taking the overall tally to 20,204, while the active cases in the region have come down to 104, officials said on Tuesday.
The union territory has registered 206 coronavirus-related deaths till now with the worst-hit Leh accounting for 148 fatalities followed by 58 in Kargil district, they said.
Of the total nine new positive cases, five were reported in Leh and four in Kargil.
The infection tally in Leh district has gone up to 16,670, while Kargil has recorded 3,534 Covid cases, the officials said. They said the number of cured patients has risen to 19,894 after the recovery of 10 patients in Leh and five in Kargil.

The number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir stands at 2,435. So far, 3,12,198 patients have recovered, they said.
There are 31 confirmed cases of mucormycosis (black fungus) in the Union Territory. No fresh case was reported the previous day, they said. According to the daily Media Bulletin, out of 10727100 test results available, 10408109 samples have been tested as negative till today. Till date 2576169 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 9231 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 2435 in isolation and 275933 in home surveillance. Besides, 2284212 persons have completed their surveillance period.
