JAMMU: A deputation of Kashmiri Migrant employees appointed under PM Employment Package on Tuesday called on Apni Party; Provincial President, Jammu, Manjit Singh at Gandhi Nagar Office of the Party.
The deputation demanded revocation of the Govt. order No 586-JK (GAD) of 2021 of July 7, 2021 which states that S.O. 194 of 2020 is applicable to employees appointed under the PM employment package.
“An order was issued by the J&K GAD that S.O. 194 of 2020 will be applicable to the PM Package for Kashmiri Migrants. S.O 194 of 2020 was issued on June 17, 2020 which amended 5-years’ probation period i.e., without salary allowances of SRO-202 to only 2 years (without salary allowances), which means that that the already appointed candidates on SRO-202 will have to undergo for only 2 years’ probation instead of five years without allowances,” the deputation informed Manjit Singh during their meeting.
They said that the S.O 194 of 2020 shall not be applicable to the posts created under PM Package for Kashmiri migrants as it will creates problems for the employees who have to look after rental accommodations since there is no proper accommodation facility for Kashmiri Migrant employees in the valley so a cut in HRA and other allowances would leave the employees to spend a substantial amount on rent and further aggravating their condition. “If due to some reasons, S.O 194 of 2020 is still implemented in PM Package, then it is our request that we all should be treated like other employees i.e., be given benefits of SRO 43 of 1994 which is not applicable to us being a special recruitment,” they demanded.
They said that “We should also be given inter-division transfers like other employees without compulsory signing of any bound at the start of our employment.”
